If you wish to provide childcare to six children or under, you are not obliged to obtain recognition by a Home Childcare Coordinating Office.
If you wish to provide childcare to seven to nine children, you must be recognized by a Home Childcare Coordinating Office. You must also be assisted by another adult.
However, to be able to offer reduced-contribution spaces, you must be recognized by a Coordinating Office.
In the calculation of the number of children to whom you may provide childcare if you are recognized, you must account for all children under 9 years of age who are present at the childcare site during the hours of childcare.
If you provide childcare to six children or under and are not assisted by another adult, this number includes no more than two infants (children under 18 months of age) and your own children if they are under 9 years of age.
If, assisted by another person, you provide childcare to seven to nine children, this number includes no more than four infants (children under 18 months of age) and the children who live with you and those who live with the person who assists you if they are under 9 years of age and are present while the services are provided.
